Vengefulness

Vengefulness
can be
a request.

One saying,
“I want you
to empathize.”

“I want you
to empathize
with what it was like
for me to go through
what I went through.”

“I want my experience
to be appreciated,
respected,
and deemed worthy
of attention.”

“I want my experience
to matter.”

Validation vs Vengefulness

Sometimes
the challenge
is less believing in ourselves
and more believing in others
who believe in us.

Sometimes
our craving for validation
is not mere craving
for validation
but craving validation
from specific someone
or group of people
because we do not deem enough
the validations we’ve already
received.

Sometimes
what we crave
is not mere validation
but revenge
born out of the desire
to prove certain people
wrong.

After Love or Hate?

One
of the most common emotions
founders discover
within themselves
is vengefulness.

In the presence
of vengefulness
it’s sometimes worth asking
whether our time
is best spent
on what we hate
vs
what we love.

Because sometimes
we may only have enough time
to choose
between
supporting
who or what we love
vs
hurting
who or what we hate.

Except
the lack of time
isn’t always obvious
until we explore
the question.

In fact,
we may not even realize
that we are experiencing
vengefulness
until we realize empathy
with ourselves.
