What if Irony is Judging Others for Lacking Empathy?
There is a moment
when someone who judged leaders
for being unworthy
faces a challenge where they themselves feel
like they have no other choice,
but to become just like them.
At this juncture, we can judge
that we have no choice,
or we can perspective we need
that will allow us to see the situation
in a different way,
where we discover or create choices
we did not know
we had
“I want answers!”
he shouted,
in frustration.

he shouted again.
“I have no answers.”
a response came back.
He stared at me,
breathing heavily.
“All I can do
is help you discover
what it is
you’re willing to take
responsibility for.”
Some people
are difficult
to work with.
We say that
as if difficulty
is abnormal.
Would life be better
if life were easier?
Or is part of what makes life
better
is that it is
difficult?
When we admit
that easy
does not exist
in the absence
of difficulty,
we realize
“Why
would they say
do I have such a hard time
appreciating
my employee?”

who appreciate
the amazing ducks
the sharp hooks
the well-timed upper cuts
regardless of the win
With intelligence
comes knowledge.
With wisdom
comes sight.
