As we empathize
we can get
closer.
The closer we get
the greater the possibility
of hyper-empathizing.
As we hyper-empathize,
the greater the possibility
that we conflate
the other
with our self.
The more we conflate
the other’s mind
for our own
the more we can build
resentment,
indignance,
and frustration,
masked
in favor of our own perspective
in the name of the other’s
injustice,
unfairness,
and incompetence
without realizing
the depth,
nuance,
and appreciation
of the other’s
perspective.
