Perfecting or Fearing Failure

There are minor details
that warrant perfection
before release
even if it doesn’t matter
to some.

Then there are major details
that does not warrant perfection
before release
because the point
is to test our fear.

Where failure itself
will be as valuable
as success.

We are often paralyzed
in front of the prospect
of doing the latter.

It’s OK

“I thought
that all my problems would be solved

once I raised enough
money.” he said.

“I thought
that all my problems would be solved

once I hired enough
experts.” he continued.

“I thought
that all my problems would be solved

once I achieved enough
annual revenue.” he let out a sigh.

“I have no more excuses.
All this time,
I have been lying to myself.”
he remarked.

“It’s OK.
We all lie to ourselves
from time
to time.

Addictiveness of Power

It’s easy
to judge others
for getting addicted
to power.

And yet,
once someone realizes
that what power gives us
is the potential
to never have to expose
our vulnerabilities,
to never have to feel
such unpleasant
emotions,
as shame
and embarrassment
it’s not too difficult to image
why anyone
would not wish to let go
to not get addicted
hard to blame anyone
for not wanting to lose
that way.

A way
called “power.”

Beyond Responsibility

“I want to achieve
peace in my family.”

“I want my team members
to be happy.”

“I want …”

While these can be goals,
aspirations,
or expectations,
they cannot be
our responsibility.

Not because we don’t care
or because we have no influence,
but because
responsibility
does not equal
outcome.

What is within our responsibility
is to do our best.

Sometimes our best
does not yield
an outcome
we find satisfying.

Our responsibility lies
is what response we choose
in relation to the outcome
we do not find satisfying.

Asking for Advice

Sometimes,
we need to ask for advice
on how to solve
our problems.

Before asking,
it may be worth getting clear on:

  1. What the current situation is,
  2. Where you’re trying to move to,
  3. What you believe are required
    to make such a move,
  4. What you’ve already done
    to fulfill those requirements,
    and having done them,
  5. What you see
    are the remaining problems.

Mobility

When tension amounts
it introduces stiffness,
aches,
and knots,
which impacts
our mobility.

It isn’t
that we are merely unwilling
to change our position,
but that changing positions
is hard
due to stiffness,
aches,
and knots.

Help us relieve our tension
and we will naturally change
positions.
